Entering 6e is already a change in pace and school. This year, there is an added calendar subtlety that could cost an unnecessary textbook or hours of revision off-topic.
What applies in 6e in 2026-2027
- French: program published in April 2025 (BO n°16 of April 17, 2025), written for cycle 3.
- Mathematics: program published in April 2025, also written for cycle 3.
What does NOT yet apply
The new 2026 programs for history-geography, science and technology, and PE exist, they are published — but their implementation in 6e is scheduled for the 2027-2028 school year. In September 2026, 6e will still work on the previous programs for these three subjects.
Why this discrepancy?
A program change requires textbooks, training, and a coherent progression throughout a cycle. The Ministry of Education therefore staggers the implementation, often starting with the first level of a cycle. The discrepancy is not a lapse: it is the official schedule.
What Looping does
Each quiz offered to a 6e student is linked to the program actually applicable this year, down to the chapter. The AI does not draw from a higher-level program nor from a text not yet in effect — this is the operating rule of the integrated reference framework.
