The general première is based on the special BO n°8 of July 25, 2019 for the core curriculum and specialties. Several subjects have since been updated: modern languages (BO n°22 of May 29, 2025), EMC (BO n°24 of June 13, 2024), scientific education (BO n°25 of June 22, 2023), and PE (special BO n°1 of January 22, 2019).
What the limited French program is
The French program in première sets four study objects — poetry, literature of ideas, novel and narrative, theater. Within this stable framework, a limited program designates each year the works to be studied and their associated paths. It changes from one session to another; the framework itself does not change.
A method that lasts throughout the year
- Treat each work with its associated path: it is the link between the two that is expected, not just the reading notes.
- Compile a notebook of exact quotations throughout the year, copied from the text — an approximate quotation is costly both orally and in writing.
- Practice grammar separately: it is assessed orally and cannot be improvised the day before.
In Looping, the Revision section precisely prepares this format: analysis of a text in two axes, timed, with exact quotations copied from the text and a grammar question, just like in the exam.
