Entering seconde changes the framework: the middle school cycle is over, and each subject now has its own high school curriculum. This year, two of them have even switched to a very recent text, while the rest of the core curriculum retains the 2019 base.
Mathematics: a new curriculum, starting this year
Unlike terminale, where the new mathematics curricula await the 2027 school year, seconde applies the new math curriculum starting 2026-2027 (decree of February 26, 2026, BO n°14 of April 2, 2026). It is the reference for the year: a "2019 curriculum" resource is no longer up to date for this subject.
Modern languages: the 2025 curriculum
Modern languages — English, Spanish, German... — follow in seconde the curriculum published in 2025 (BO n°22 of May 29, 2025), in effect since the 2025 school year. It is organized around renewed cultural axes, specific to each level. Première and terminale classes will in turn switch to this curriculum in the 2026 school year.
The rest of the core curriculum: the 2019 texts
French, history-geography, physics-chemistry, life and earth sciences, digital sciences and technology, physical education: the foundation of the general and technological seconde remains that of the 2019 high school reform (special BO n°1 of January 22, 2019). Only moral and civic education has been rewritten since (BO n°24 of June 13, 2024).
