Cycle 3 includes CM1, CM2, and 6e. It is the only cycle spanning two institutions, and this peculiarity explains its construction.
What is common to the three levels
French, mathematics, science and technology, arts, physical education, and modern languages rely on the same official texts from CM1 to 6e. A student changing institutions between CM2 and 6e does not change programs in these subjects: they continue the same cycle.
What is distributed by year
History and geography themes, however, are assigned year by year. Those of CM1 replace those of 6e in the reference, and CM2 has its own. It is the only subject in the cycle where the class, not the cycle, determines the content.
The transition to 6e
The real leap in 6e is not the program, it's the organization: multiple teachers, a schedule, a planner to maintain, homework to anticipate over the week. This is where the start of the school year plays out, more than on the content.
